Privacy policy

What we collect

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type. We have no contact forms, no newsletter, no comments and no accounts.

What our host sees

• The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, its servers record standard access logs — IP address, the page requested, timestamp, browser user-agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to identify individuals. Netlify's handling is governed by its own privacy policy.
• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which reveals your IP address to Google. We are noting this plainly rather than hiding it, and we intend to self-host the fonts to remove that request entirely.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and shares data with Google. We run it with IP anonymisation on and both advertising signals off, which is the least invasive configuration available.

You can opt out with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking the script with any content blocker. Beyond this, nothing else watches you here: no advertising network, no session recording, no fingerprinting.

No cookie is set unless you agree. The tag loads with every storage permission denied — Google's own "consent mode" — so until you accept the banner nothing is written to your device and nothing identifies you. Loading it that way, rather than not at all, is what lets Google confirm the site is tagged; the trade-off is that your browser does contact Google, which reveals your IP address to them in the same way the fonts above already do. To change your mind either way, clear this site's data in your browser and the question will be asked again.

Affiliate links, where present, may set cookies belonging to the merchant or their network once you click through — that is how they attribute a referral. Those cookies are set by that company, under their policy, not ours. See our earnings disclosure for how affiliate links work here.

Links to other sites

We link to vendors, pricing pages and source repositories throughout. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site under their policy. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, what they collect.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar laws you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data an organisation holds about you. We hold none — there is no account, no mailing list and no database with your details in it. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will look and tell you honestly.

Children

This site is aimed at people choosing business software. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Because the site is open to inspection through its published pages, material changes are visible rather than quietly slipped in.
